Words of Wisdom - Let us be Inspired Comunicate your thoughts

Political     The distribution of wealth, the environment, access to health care, the lack of democracy, the education system, quality of work and life, and basic human rights and dignity are all issues that must be viewed as interconnected and should be on the agenda of the labour movement.

If we are to change how the fruits of the earth are shared,

we must educate ourselves and then,

we must act on this awareness.

The goal of this site is to educate and inspire all workers on the issues facing them.

We want this site to be a valuable resource to you, but also a place of interaction and discussion. In the months ahead we will be updating and adding new features, so you can continue to communicate your issues and concerns by staying connected.

Updated December 2006 Employment and Labour Law

There are two bills currently pending before Parliament which propose to amend the Canada Labour Code

(the “Code”). The intent of each of these substantially similar Private Members’ Bills is to prohibit the use of

replacement workers (so-called “scabs”) by federally regulated employers. The success of either of these

bills will have significant long and short term ramifications for both federally and provincially regulated

employers.

In a changing World, we still struggle to build on what we have Won!

And to extend our defense of workers' rights

To the rest of the world

It's a big job but if WE don't do it, Who will?
